IIJ’s man in the US: JP Traxler visited the R2R USA Conference and Expo last month in Charlotte, NC in the most anticipated roll-to-roll event of the year. Focusing on the KM1024a Long Throw Distance printhead IIJ expands on the benefits of inkjet for coding and marking markets.
The 24th September was a great start to the week for our very own JP. He presented his paper on the benefits of a breakthrough inkjet technology by Konica Minolta Inc. The new KM1024a printhead for Long Throw distance piezo printing was the highlight of the presentation.
JP focused on key applications, benefits and how to utilise them in various markets.
IIJ brings you the KM1024aSHE printhead. It is an analogue printhead newly released for the coding and marking industry. A significantly more powerful product than the more well known KM1024i Series of printheads. With a 6pl native drop size and same the slim architecture of the iSeries, it is easy to integrate, reliable, with the same excellent fluid compatibility.
Historically speaking piezo inkjet technology has been excluded from the coding and marking industry. A 2mm, standard throw distance has ensured that piezo inkjet has been too problematic. Concerns on head strikes, ROI and lack of requirement for high resolution, mean the costs are just too high. However changing trends, increased need for track and trace, security and more content for logistics has meant that more detail is now required.
IIJ brings you a solution that can combat these two factors (safety concerns and emerging requirements) that also is cost effective and reliable.
