Built For Experimentation.

Industrial development rarely follows a straight line. A fluid may require a different waveform, a substrate may need heating or pre-treatment, a coating may require a different resolution or multiple passes. For this reason, flexibility is central to the XY range.
Depending on the system and configuration, the XY system allows you to investigate printhead parameters, resolution, image strategy, scan speed, print gap, ink delivery, curing or drying conditions and more. Systems can also be configured with options such as heated platens, UV curing, controlled ink delivery and different material-handling arrangements.

Common Applications.

Direct-to-product decoration
Coding and marking of components and 3D parts
Ink, coating and functional-fluid development
Materials deposition and additive manufacturing
Printed and functional electronics
Labels and digital embellishment
Adhesive and precision-fluid deposition
Substrate, wetting and adhesion development
Printhead and ink evaluation
Process development before production integration
Pilot and short-run production where appropriate

For many applications, the XY system is not the final production machine. It is where the process is developed before inkjet is integrated into the customer's production equipment and this approach can significantly reduce development risk. Rather than modifying a production line while fundamental questions about the printhead, ink, substrate, curing or process settings are still unanswered, you can establish the core inkjet process separately.
From XY Development to Production Retrofit.
Once the requirements are better understood, that knowledge can be applied to the production solution. We can then work with you to integrate the appropriate inkjet technology into new or existing machinery. Depending on the project, this may include Konica Minolta printheads, drive electronics, ink delivery, software, curing or drying equipment and the mechanical elements required to incorporate inkjet into the wider manufacturing process.
