The use of inkjet printing for ceramic tile manufacture (wall tiles and floor tiles) is growing very rapidly in Europe and is outselling conventional “analog” systems. Although inkjet inks for ceramic inks tend to cost more than conventional inks, this is outweighed by the cost saving in print rollers (none required with inkjet)and the time saved in setting up analog systems.

Inkjet tile manufacture is expected to grow rapidly in Brazil, China and India over the next year or two.

Konica Minolta inkjet heads are proven suitable for use with a wide range of ceramics inks from different ink manufacturers. IIJ has test data available on request.

In particular Konica Minolta printheads, combined with IIJ ink-system know-how, can deliver exceptional system reliability and up-time.

IIJ has a demonstration ceramic tile print system in our UK facility. This system features full recirculation of the ceramic inks through the printhead.
