IIJ MD spoke at the IJC last week. His speech was on the “plenary” track and so was to the full conference assembly.
John’s talk was the first announcement in the West of new families of inkjet printheads from Konica Minolta. He described new features including nozzle-level ink recirculation which is considered a must-have in certain markets such as ceramics tile printing. He also described new “analog” drive electronics which has the potential to almost double the productivity from each printhead. John also covered Konica Minolta’s acquisition of Panasonic inkjet.
John’s talk was very well received and the conference delegates voted him “best speaker”. John commented “the talk was prepared by IIJ’s Matt Barr with help from Konica Minolta Japan, so thanks to them, but my special thanks to my predecessor on stage, Ben Brebner of Archipelago, whose green hair gave me the perfect “warm-up” joke.
