Riding on the success of its hugely popular and successful inkjet print engines, Industrial Inkjet Ltd (IIJ) has used Labelexpo in Brussels and Pack Expo in Las Vegas for the world launches of a new range of compact high-resolution colour print modules.
Based on the high specification KM1800i printhead from Konica Minolta, the new ColourPrint HiQ range offers a native resolution of 600 dpi, and by utilising asymmetric screening technology can achieve over 1000 dpi apparent resolution, making the most of the small 3.5pl drops.
Due to the innovative printhead technology speeds of up to 200m/min are achievable, making them ideally suited to add digital functionality to analogue printing or processing equipment. The new modules are available in a range of print widths from 75mm to 520mm, allowing customers to choose the product that best fits their process and their budget.
IIJ has over 200 print engines in the field across Europe, North and South America, Asia and Africa, a record built on the reliability, quality and economy of its equipment.
A number of ColourPrint HiQ units have already been sold and are due for installation in sites across the world in October and November 2017.
Fast-expanding IIJ opened a new office in Golden, Colorado, at the foot of the Rocky Mountains earlier this year following the appointment of Graham VIcek as president of its US operations and is ramping up its global operations.

“People are looking for inkjet solutions for their products and not just labels, but direct-to-product printing as well. Our advanced, bespoke systems are real gamechangers. In addition, we also had three enquiries for wallpaper machines on the first day alone.”
IIJ founder Mr Corrall, who was in Brussels but in regular contact with US counterparts, added: “Perhaps they should change the Labelexpo name to ‘The Inkjet Show’ because that and packaging was what everybody was talking about on our stand [Hall 9] and around the show.”
